FILTER
ELEMENTS
The patent pending Z.Plex
filter technology from GE Water and Process Technologies represents years of
media research and filtration technology expertise. Engineered for greater void
volume than current melt blown filters, Z.Plex technology incorporates smaller
diameter fibers and an innovative 3-dimensional fiber matrix that maintains
structural integrity while greatly increasing filter capacity. Z.Plex
technology represents GE Water and Process Technologies devotion to excellence,
serving to illustrate the company's commitment to developing technologically
advanced filtration products.
HYTREX
CARTRIDGE FILTERS
Filters and Filter Housings True Depth Filtration vs.
Claimed Depth Filtration Many cartridges claim to be depth filters. But to be a
true depth filter, a cartridge must be able to retain contaminants throughout
the entire cross section of the filter. To accomplish this, the density must
increase progressively from the exterior surface to the interior. This
"graded density" allows larger particles to be trapped near the
surface while smaller particles penetrate the larger open areas to be trapped
nearer the center of the filter in the smaller openings. Without graded
density, a so-called "depth" filter will operate in practice only as
a surface filter. With only the surface area loading with dirt, the pressure
drop will increase rapidly, dramatically reducing both the dirt-holding
capacity and the effective filter life.
LIQUID
FILTER HOUSING FILTRATION SYSTEMS
Liquid Filter
Housings feature Over-The-Top® design. Compression of our Zero-Bypass®
bag collar between the housing lid and the top of the support basket provides a
positive 360-degree seal, preventing bypass of
unfiltered liquid. Solids are trapped and collected in the bag, eliminating
clean up of the vessel interior during bag change-out. Filtration Systems
vessels provide the lowest working height for filter technicians, reducing
accidental spills and minimizing employee exposure to liquids. Hinged lids seal
with four closure bolts and bar knobs to allow quick access without special
tools. Convenient handles and built-in lid stops make our vessels easy to use.
Vent, gauge, and drain ports promote accurate monitoring and safe use. All
housings are built to ASME specifications and are available in T-304 or T-316
Stainless Steel or Carbon Steel. Alternate inlet and outlet connections may be
ordered to allow the vessels to be placed directly in line with existing
process piping.
ACTUATED,
VALVED SYSTEMS
Pneumatic or electric actuators are optional when ordering any Filtration
Systems Valved, Individual vessel or Valved, Multi-housing system. Actuators
function to mechanically open or close the inlet and outlet valves, allowing
individual housings to be isolated from the filtering process. They are affixed
to the ball valves and tested, to assure reliable operation. Additional
threaded ports (1/4 NPT) are provided for the installation of pressure
sensing or electrical switching devices. Actuated filter housings may be
incorporated into user-designed systems for automation, or protection of
equipment and employees. Actuated systems are highly versatile for use in many
applications. |
